Now in its 18th year, Western Australia's Innovators of the Year celebrates the State's leading innovators across 7 award categories. A key feature is the Accelerator Program, helping the finalists sharpen their entrepreneurial skills through workshops, seminars and one-on-one sessions with leading industry experts. The Accelerator Program provides targeted skill development and personalised consultation to support the growth of their innovations.

Highlights included the Wellness Check masterclass which focussed on building high-performance habits to support longevity and success in business. One-on-one sessions with Moore Australia addressed key challenges in business, such as corporate structure, tax considerations, capital raising, while leading intellectual property (IP) firms, Wrays and Griffith Hack, offered personalised and crucial insights into IP protection.

Nexia's Strategy on a Page workshop helped the finalists develop their own concise strategy to innovation growth, and The Winning the Media Game workshop supported their abilities to confidently address challenging media questions.

Other key sessions of the Accelerator Program included a Grant Readiness and Project Planning webinar, offering a greater understanding of the grant funding process, and a Board Models for Entrepreneurs session covering business governance basics.

2015 Overall Winner Kashif Saleem, founder of Track鈥檈m, met with the finalists to share his company's journey, and offering insight into the possibilities beyond the 2024 program.

Finalists received one-on-one pitch presentation training in preparation of their pitch to showcase their innovations and value propositions WA's Innovators of the Year judging panel. The outcome of the pitches will be announced at the awards ceremony on the Monday 28 October.

The final workshop, led by CSIRO, will allow the finalists to hear from innovation experts on the value for business with research and development collaborations.

The finalists have praised the Accelerator Program for its supportive environment and access to expertise, with one finalist highlighting the "direct relevance and clear expertise in the subject matter鈥 provided by the workshop leaders.
