Young leaders can discover democracy in action by being part of this year鈥檚 WA Youth Parliament.
Funded by the Department of Communities and hosted by Y WA (formerly the YMCA), the Youth Parliament program is open to people aged 15 to 25 years living in Western Australia.

The Y WA Youth Parliament is the most senior youth advisory body to the WA 黑料正能量 and gives young people an opportunity to gather in the Houses of Parliament to debate bills and gain first-hand experience of our State鈥檚 parliamentary processes.

Last year, 58 young people took part in the program in which bills were presented and debated on a wide range of issues including artificial intelligence, recycling and electoral reform.

This year-long initiative features a residential camp as well as three training days.

Youth Minister Hannah Beazley will officially open the program at a Parliament House ceremony on Monday 8 July 2024. After the ceremony, the Youth Parliament will convene for three days in Parliament House.

Young people from across the State are encouraged to apply, including Aboriginal youth and young people living in rural and remote locations.

Applications close on Sunday 24 March 2024. Details can be found on the.
