Recipients of the Youth Week WA 2025 grants have been announced, marking the beginning of preparations for the biggest annual celebration of young people aged 10 to 25 years across the State.

Running from 10 to 17 April, Youth Week WA profiles and honours the contributions young people make to the community, showcases their talents and creativity, and encourages engagement with other community sectors including seniors, carers and volunteers.

Grants of up to $3,000 were awarded to organisations to host an array of activities that promise to foster a sense of community, highlight the achievements of young people, and provide a platform for their voices to be heard.

One of the grant recipients, Albany Youth Support Association, will be coordinating Live and Loud, a drug and alcohol-free event run by young people for young people. The event will feature music performances, light and sound production, and arts activities in a safe, fun and youth-friendly environment.

Other grant recipients include the Shire of Broome's five-day Youth Week extravaganza to launch the new Cable Beach Youth Hub, Shark Bay Community Resource Centre's community-wide art collaboration with Aboriginal Artist Daniel McHenry to create a town mural honouring the traditional custodians of the land, and Yaandina Community Services’ two-day outdoor creative workshop for youth in Roebourne.

The theme for Youth Week WA 2025 is ‘Our Threads, This Place, Your Moment’ which underscores the deep connections young people have with their community, each other and themselves.

The week-long celebration will see over 100 events across metro and regional WA including in Karratha, the host city for 2025.

Funded by the Department of Communities, Propel Youth Arts, Lotterywest, and the State ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿â€™s Youth Week WA grants program, these grants will support a variety of events and projects throughout the week.
