The trial will examine the use of the  Swiss made Zasso Electroherb machine to kill weeds with high voltage electrical currents.

Small scale farms in Europe are already using the machine, which will be evaluated for use under Western Australian farming conditions.

DPIRD research scientist Miranda Slaven told the recent Grains Research Updates 2022 virtual forum electric weed control could reduce the use of chemicals and help build more sustainable farms.
