This study updates knowledge of the hydrogeology of the Loch McNess and Yanchep Caves and reviews the history of groundwater abstraction in the Yanchep Beach area.
It also explains the most likely causes of rapid declines in lake water levels since 2006 and gives guidance for better groundwater management to restore some of the hydrogeological processes and water levels of this important environmental asset.
