The State Records Office of Western Australia (SRO) is the custodian of the largest and most significant documentary heritage collection in Western Australia. It is also the government information management authority which, on behalf of the State Records Commission, regulates record keeping through the development of a whole-of-government framework.
As the leader in archival practice in Western Australia, the SRO fosters good information management processes throughout State and Local government to enable effective, efficient, open and accountable business practices.
The SRO thus ensures the identification and preservation of WA鈥檚 State archives and allows public access to this unique and rich source of historical information.
