The role of a Field Worker
Field Workers are located in regional offices only and can be appointed without having a relevant qualification.
Field Workers have a similar role to play as Child Protection Workers, as they are responsible for engaging, building and maintaining relationships with families and their children and communities while acknowledging the existing and inherent strengths that are already present.
Although they do not have tertiary qualifications, Field Workers play an important role in providing ongoing support, commitment and assistance to children and young people in care who live in WA鈥檚 regional communities.
They assist children and young people in the Department鈥檚 care to identify their strengths and build their capacity.
