Social and economic outcomes for Aboriginal people
All Fund investments will demonstrate how activities delivered will achieve the following outcomes:
- increase in educational attendance for children, with a view to achieving improved educational performance
- increase in employment of adults, with a view to achieving increased job stability and income
- increase in suitable, stable, affordable, long-term housing for Aboriginal people
- increase in apprenticeships and training for adults and young people
- increase in the range of desirable choices available to Aboriginal people
- Aboriginal people able to develop and achieve their own aspirations.
Aboriginal participation and capacity building
All Fund investments will demonstrate local Aboriginal participation:
- Any construction will aim to meet Aboriginal employment targets (Kimberley: 40 per cent, Pilbara: 20 per cent) and include local Aboriginal apprentices.
- Increased Aboriginal employment opportunities through the delivery of proposed services.
- Projects are community driven or community endorsed.
