Support Services

is an Australian ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ initiative providing a mix of free online, telephone and in-person supports, services and advice, for family carers in Australia. Carer Gateway in-person services are being delivered throughout the states and territories by a network of Carer Gateway Service Providers. In Western Australia, Carers WA is leading the delivery of these in-person services in partnership with a range of other organisations.

To access relevant supports and services, carers must undergo a carer support planning process to assess their needs. Carers WA has a dedicated Carer Gateway team who can be reached Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm (phone: 1800 422 737).

also offer a range of innovative programs and services aimed at providing practical and emotional support. The organisation is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm (phone: 1300 227 377).

is a lived experience-led organisation and advocate with a long history of collaboration across and beyond the mental health and suicide prevention sectors.

They provide a range of free digital and telehealth support services to bridge the gaps in mental health and support recovery including our peer support, counselling, community forums, peer-led groups, art and social groups and information resources.

Carers self-advocacy handbook

The Carers self-advocacy handbook is resource for carers developed by the Department of Communities in consultation with Western Australian carers, Carers WA, Carers Advisory Council and other carer organisations. This handbook provides tips to help you to self-advocate as a carer and to look after yourself. It can also help you to speak up for yourself in stressful situations and provides information about services that may help you to look after your own health and wellbeing.
