The Western Australia Innovator of the Year 2022 finalists were announced in August 2022, with winners to be recognised at an awards ceremony on 5 December.
Twelve finalists were chosen in both the Rio Tinto Emerging and Rio Tinto Growth categories in 2022. In addition to the program finalists, there were a further 12 finalists across the three Platinum Award categories: Business News 'Great for the State' Platinum Award, Wesfarmers Wellbeing Platinum Award and Woodside Energy Platinum Award.
Prior to the awards ceremony, all finalists are invited to attend a suite of commercialisation training in topics such as accountancy, IP protection, a legal health check, social media and marketing, grant writing, pitching and more. They will also be involved in the production of a photography and/or videography package, to better promote their innovation.
