Establishment of the Central Services Corporation
South West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council (SWALSC) was formally appointed by the Noongar Boodja Trustee as the Central Services Corporation (CSC) on 29 June 2022, after being endorsed as the CSC by all six Noongar Agreement Groups and the WA 黑料正能量. The appointment of the CSC was subject to there being maximum Noongar Community engagement, transparency, and accountability in the establishment process.
In late 2016, SWALSC released a (updated in 2019), which set out a documented plan to assist the Noongar Community to understand the role of, and process for establishment of the CSC for the South West Native Title Settlement.
Functions of the Central Services Corporation
The CSC is funded by the to provide support to the Noongar Regional Corporations (Regional Corporations) and the Noongar Community.
The CSC鈥檚 functions include:
- providing administrative and corporate support to the Regional Corporations to manage the benefits and meet the obligations under the Settlement;
- centralising systems, professional experience, and expertise;
- protecting, promoting, and supporting the culture, customs, languages and traditions of the Noongar People; and
- providing cultural, social, economic, and environmental benefits to or for the Noongar People.
