The Department of Training and Workforce Development is building the workforce to meet the economic and community needs of Western Australia. We are a medium-sized public sector agency leading and working across many areas of WA’s training and workforce development landscape.

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion

The Department welcomes people from a diverse range of backgrounds and lived experiences; including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, youth, women, and people of diverse sexualities and genders.

As a leader of workforce development for the State, the Department recognises the need to ensure that our own workforce reflects the diversity of the wider community. Our Workforce Diversification and Inclusion Strategy outlines our commitment to increasing the representation of people from diverse backgrounds at all levels, and to ensuring our staff experiences a sense of belonging and inclusion at work.
