Understanding our variable and changing climate is critical to developing and implementing solutions for a resilient, low-carbon Western Australia.
The Climate Science Initiative (CSI) will produce the most detailed and comprehensive Western Australian climate change projections to date, extending to the year 2100.
Translating this science into local insights will be critical to helping Western Australians to understand and use this information in decision making. Communities, businesses, and all levels of government will then be better placed to respond to the impacts of climate change.
The CSI will help government better protect the state鈥檚 unique biodiversity, plan for more intense climate extremes like tropical storms, floods, and bushfires, and support major investment decisions in areas such as energy infrastructure, planning and regional development.
