Most occupational licensing applications must be accompanied by an Australian police check. For further detail of when a police check is required refer to the relevant application form.

National Police Certificate (NPC)
Available online from the or, if you are located outside of WA, contact your local police service.
NPCs issued by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) cannot be used for WA licensing purposes unless the person resides overseas or the application relates to the Indian Ocean Territories.
National Police History Check (NPHC)
To be accepted, the certificate must specify 鈥Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety licensing purposes鈥 as the reason for the check.

The cost and process to apply (online, by mail or in person) for a NPHC is set by each listed provider, so you are encouraged to shop around for the service that best meets your individual needs.

Organisations accredited by the as an 鈥渁ccredited body servicing the public鈥 can request to be an accepted NPHC provider.
