Foundation Skills Training Faculty

Physical Training Unit, Probationer & Cadet Development Unit and Training Management and Support Unit

The Physical Training Unit is devoted to the delivery of health and fitness classes to Police Recruits, Police Auxiliary Officers and Police Cadets. 

The Training Management and Support Unit is responsible for the overall supervision of the training programs, discipline and standards, and the administration and governance of all Police Recruits, Transitional Officers and Police Auxiliary Officers in training. 

The Probationer & Cadet Development Unit is committed to the professional development and management of Probationary Officers and Police Cadets throughout Western Australia.

Investigations and Intelligence Faculty

Detective Training School

The Detective Training School is responsible for the Professional Investigation Training and Development Program. These courses are provided to recruits and serving officers ensuring investigations are professional, ethical and effective by enhancing the skills, knowledge and abilities of all those involved in the investigative process.

Leadership & Career Development Faculty

Professional Pathways Unit, Operational Leadership Development Unit, District Training Coordination Unit

The Leadership & Career Development Faculty is committed to improving the capabilities and capacities of our people by providing a variety of professional development opportunities to all WA Police Force employees. 

District Training Coordination Unit, Operational Leadership Development Unit and Professional Pathways Unit, work in collaboration to develop and deliver contemporary training and learning events that meet current and future policing demands.

Operational Skills Training Faculty

Operational Safety & Tactics Training Unit, Driver Training Unit, Operational Skills Safety Coordination Unit and Use of Force Co-Ordinator

The Operational Skills Training Faculty is responsible for providing critical skills training to all officers relating to use of force, operational safety and driver training. It is also responsible for providing agency governance over use of force and high-risk road policing activities, including emergency driving, evade police intercept driving and tyre deflation systems.

Police Training Practices Faculty 

Curriculum Development Unit, Training Governance and Audit Unit, Learning Technologies Unit

Oversees governance, and strategic direction for police training products and practice. Provides direction on legislative, regulatory, and policy frameworks, quality training, immersive technologies, and risk management supporting excellence in policing. The faculty manages Training Governance and Audit, Curriculum Development, and Learning Technologies units.
