A traffic infringement notice is issued, in the first instance, to the registered owner of the offending vehicle identified in the photograph:
- if you were the driver named on the notice, you must pay the notice by the due date. Refer to the notice for payment options.
- if you were not the driver named on the notice, do not pay the notice. Scroll down this page to the ‘nominating the driver’ section and follow the steps.
Business owned vehicles
If the vehicle is registered to a business, a notice requesting information (NRI) will be issued to the company:
- the responsible person for the business must, by the compliance date shown on the notice, provide the details of the driver or person in charge of the vehicle at the time of the alleged offence
- the nominated driver will then be issued with the infringement notice, which is a modified penalty to that endorsed on the NRI
- if the required details cannot be ascertained or provided, the business must pay the modified penalty (double the individual penalty) by the payment due date
- scroll down this page to the ‘business owned vehicle’ section of this page and follow the steps.
On-the-spot notices
