Waste not, want not - Issues paper consultation

2019 public consultation on the Waste not, want not: valuing waste as a resource issues paper.
Last updated:

In 2019, the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation called for public comments on the Waste not, want not: valuing waste as a resource issues paper.

The issues paper outlined possible reforms to support use of waste-derived materials and encourage the use of fit-for-purpose waste-derived materials and WA's move to a circular economy.

The reforms aim to provide greater certainty about when waste-derived materials will cease to trigger licensing and levy obligations.

Consultation on this issues paper is closed.

The consultation period ran from Wednesday, 12 June to Wednesday, 4 September 2019 (12 weeks).

The department’s response to comments on the issues paper is provided in the Consultation summary report.

The department thanks all respondents to this consultation.
