About the Climate and Sustainability portfolio

The Climate and Sustainability portfolio is leading our strategy and policy for a sustainable future. The portfolio provides guidance to decision makers and develops the state's climate and sustainability policy .

The portfolio:

  • leads the State ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿â€™s response to climate, transitioning to a net zero economy by 2050 while adapting and building community resilience to climate change
  • develops effective water resource strategies in response to a rapidly changing environment
  • strengthens nature policy to transition towards a nature positive economy
  • delivers on strategic partnering, regulatory reform and Australian government collaboration through legislation and strategic engagement
  • strengthens the circular economy to effectively reduce pressure on natural resources and minimise waste.
